If you do not hear or read that a company has adopted the "go cloud" strategy in their business plan, you feel the company is going in a wrong way! Weird thoughts? Yes, it is, but then it is a reality. It is also a fact that we, all, are using some or other IT resources on cloud on daily basis. In fact, there has been significant coverage about cloud computing in various research journals, and IT magazines, where people delve into various details of this novel computing paradigm, and try to educate us. All is well!
But what is this all about, and how can it effect a change in the landscape of computing in the coming days? What will happen with the organizations who have already invested their fortune in legacy systems? Will these new developments in computing alter the digital ecosystem, or will these synergize? Above all, what about the actual benefits of cloud computing and its contribution to our socio-economic evolution? In this rather small book, we shall discuss each of these aspects, and shall explore the new world of opportunities that come in our way with cloud computing.
I wish this book be a handy guide for IT users, solution providers, and public in general as I do not believe knowledge is a privilege to the few. I have taken care to make the conceptual aspects as simple as possible, and have tried to treat technical matters in a clear and lucid style.
