The motivational lecture was given at IBS, Bhubaneswar on September 24, 2011. Here is the transcript of the brief talk there:
I have been invited to deliver a brief motivational lecture. But I would like to make a secret pact with you people; I am not going to do any such thing. Do not tell your teachers! I am not going to bore you with a motivational lecture with high words.
However, I would like to share a personal experience of mine. It was when I was spending my vacation after I wrote my class 7th exam. It was early in the morning, and I was lying on my bed. Mother would not push for study as the exam was over. Well, I was relaxed; I had convinced myself that I would pass the exam.
I got up with the call of a cuckoo, and went up to the terrace. The bird was sitting on the branch of a small tree near my bedroom. My entire morning was filled with joy; this was an act of a bird whom I never knew. And next day, it was the same story. I again woke up to a joyful morning. After a couple of days, I realised that it was happening almost at the same time every morning. I began appreciating the good happening; and with each next day, I grew punctual to start my day early during the rest of that vacation. I started spending my time in productive way; I had been motivated. A great impact of this small bird – a big motivational factor.
Any lesson from this?
Yes, you need to look around you. You will not require a motivational lecture to boost your positive energy. You need to recognise the happenings around you to stay motivated, and to create your own story in your life.
Thank you so much for listening so patiently. Have a great day ahead!
